i am a sushi snob and this very good sushi. fast delivery, huge portions and fresh fish at an afforadable price. some of the best in the neighborhood. glad it's here!

OK, the delivery was fast so I will give a good review for that but it goes downhill from there. Unfortunately, the last thing I ate was the salad was which was rotten, literally, was eating the salad and found a large rotten moldy patch which could only resemble a growth in a lab. The california roll was made with long grain rice and fell apart easily. Chicken teriyaki and beef negimaki were both covered in a congealed and most unedible "teriyaki sauce". Overall I will NEVER order form here again food quality was very poor I would give ZERO stars if it was allowed.

Overall, my experience with the food quality and delivery speed was far better than expected so I'll give this an above average rating. The side salad included mixed greens, a few shreds of cabbage and radish, and a couple of snow peas with a decent carrot ginger dressing; this contrasts to the commonly found iceberg pieces you'll usually receive in bento boxes. Similarly, most miso soup is pretty bland and you're lucky to find more than a few cubes of tofu, let alone any wakame or scallions, but this bowl had plenty of everything. Based on my California roll, I'd agree the rolls are big and fall apart due to the rice used. As for the main dish, the tempura arrived fairly crisp (which the quick delivery likely played a role in) but was otherwise lackluster.

I really like this place. Coming from Vancouver it's been really hard to find good quality fish for a decent price. The portion size is good and they've never messed up an order.

Sushi is fresh, portions are generous (sometimes too generous), haven't had orders messed up; sometimes the wait is on the long side, but varies a lot with predictable things such as time of day and weather. Overally -- solid, reliable take-out sushi!

Consistently good, whether eating in or ordering. The lunch specials are definitely the best deal. I usually order the 2 roll special (spicy tuna and sweet potato tempura), which comes for with salad for $9. It's an office favorite!

This place is great if you're looking for a good cheap Japanese cuisine experience. Their lunch special menu in my opinion is one of the best, they don't skimp out on what they give you. The quality of the fish is so-so, but it's not really an issue for what you pay for.

This place is AWESOME! It's my go-to sushi spot in the neighborhood. I always order sushi from here, but it's even better if you go there: after 5 they have all you can drink hot sake if you spend $15 per person. Also, you can do it individually so if one person wants to just drink beer or something it's not a problem. Their sashimi is awesome, and their maki is the bomb (plus each roll is huge, 8 pieces!). I once went there with someone from Japan and she said it was really good authentic Japanese food. My favorite things here are the popcorn shrimp, the salmon avocado roll, the spicy lover roll, the sashimi dinner, the viagra roll (which is weird cause I normally hate eel), the miso eggplant, and the wasabi lobster salad. Also, if you have never tried a peanut avocado roll, do it--they are delicious!

Portions are large (8 big pieces per roll instead of 6); great quality (rolls and sashimi); great selection of fish and other ingredients; very quick pick up (within 10 minutes of ordering); excellent prices!

Won't order my sushi from anywhere else! They do not skimp on the amount of fish, and the rolls are big! 2 roll lunch special is great and super fast delivery! They are here usually 11 minutes after you receive your confirmation email!

Have been a regular for a while. Enjoy the food. But, it took 65 minutes for my order to get here...and I'm only two blocks away! DO visit the restaurant. DON'T order in.

I once gave it 5 stars- but now 2 orders in a row- bad chewy/discolored disgusting tuna that I couldn't cut with a saw and stinky eel. Very disappointed as I was a loyal customer.

The sushi was way more then enough which is great. The quality isn't so great. The sushi had a weird mushy quality to it. Probably wouldn't order from here again

This rating is for takeout only. Dining in at Sun Cafe has always been a good experience but takeout sushi was a HUGE mistake. I ordered the salmon sushi and tuna roll, and I ended up being very sick. I can conclude that it was because I used the $5 promotion from Seamlessweb since another time I used the $5 promotion, I got the wrong order at a different restaurant.

Quick and fast. Rolls was not good - they use regular rice which came out super sticky and gooey. Spinach was fine.

My husband and I love sushi and order it at least once a week. We've tried so many downtown sushi delivery restaurants; as soon as we found Sun Cafe we searched no further! For delivery sushi, the presentation is fantastic, the quality of the food is top notch and it is just delicious. The king roll and the crazy roll are our faves!
